Hi, I’m Yom Keit. I have two children and I’m 35. Both of my kids are at primary school. I work occasionally as a rubber field labourer and my husband works in Vietnam, doing tasks such as sorting through second-hand items. He earns our family’s main income of $29.70 a week, which goes directly towards supporting the whole family.

As my husband and I are unable to read and write, we can’t find good jobs. We can only work as labourers and earn a very small income. I have attempted to farm chickens to generate more income. However, when I used to do it the chickens didn’t look healthy, and many of them were killed by wild animals or diseases. I hope I will be able to start again and achieve betterĀ  results.

My business goal is to start farming chickens, creating a successful micro-enterprise. In the future I hope to have enough money to support my children’s studies, improve our food security and facilities, and improve our living standards a whole.
