Hello. People in my community call me Sokhom, I’m 30 years old and mother to two children. I’m a chicken farmer, and occasionally, I work as a rubber field labourer and sell vegetables and firewood that I collect from fields. My husband cannot do labour jobs due to his poor health. I only earn around $20.35 per week which goes directly towards supporting the whole family. We live in a small house in a remote area of Cambodia. In the future I would like to develop a chicken farming business into a successful micro-enterprise.
My goal is to increase my family income so that I can better support my children’s education, improve my family’s healthcare, daily food quality, and access to facilities, and save to purchase a plot of land in the future.
