Hi, I’m Pisey Yeuong. I’m 27 years old and have two young children, one of whom is at school. I’m a housewife and my husband works as a labourer in the rubber and cassava fields. He earns our family’s main income, which divides to approximately $0.82 per family member per day.

7 months ago, my husband and I started a small business farming chickens. We have a small coop under the house. Although we have generated extra income for our family through this, it has been very minimal. Once I have better access to funding, a better coop and materials, and I’m able to learn more skills, I think my business will be far more successful.

My long-term goal is to expand the chicken farming business and develop it into a successful micro-enterprise. By doing so I hope to be able to make a stable income so that I can provide my children with a good education, more nutritious food, safer housing, and a higher status in our community.
